If you need a vet I highly recommend Dr. Searle. I have been taking my dog to him for 7 years. He opened his office in Bellingham and I drive from 3 counties away to have him see my dog, even for just a check up or vaccinations. He truly cares.

I was able to get in to the see the vet same day due to a cancelation. The initial appt they offered was only 1 1/2 days away. The clinic has a great feel. The staff are positive and calm. Dr. Searle is exactly how a previous commenter made him sound. He is calm, knowledgeable, takes his time and answers questions. I did not feel rushed during the appt. When I pulled up to the clinic I saw Dr. Searle outside with an old pup and his owner running the dog a bit so that he could get a better idea of how his lungs sounded (I over heard what he was saying since my windows were open). A very invested, compassionate and patient vet and vet techs. 💗

I live within a couple miles of 4 different vets but still choose to drive 30 minutes away because Dr. Searle is the best. Not only is he great with general care but he also performed my dog’s tplo surgery a couple of years ago and did an amazing job. Hands down he is the best vet I’ve had.

Our regular vet referred us to Dr. Searle for a specialized surgery–a mandibulectomy to remove a tumor on our boxer’s lower jaw. I was dreading the surgery, concerned about suffering and expecting her to look disfigured afterwards, but it was a success and her new chin looks great! I was very impressed with Meridian Vet–Dr. Searle clearly cares about his patients and is very thorough and attentive to detail. He gives clear instructions. Her recovery was complicated, as she needed to learn to eat again with a partial jaw, but we got a lot of support during the after-care phase, too. She is now thriving.
