
Dr. Jake Searle
Dr. Jake Searle is the owner and primary veterinarian at Meridian Street Veterinary. His areas of emphasis are small animal preventative care, general internal medicine and surgery.
Dr. Searle is a native to the Pacific Northwest and was born and raised in Monroe, Washington. Growing up, Dr. Searle spent most of his time outdoors playing soccer, working with the farm animals, and going to school. After high school, he went to Washington State University and received his Bachelors of Science in Genetics and Cell Biology, and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, Surgery, and Dentistry.
Dr. Searle says “Pullman is a great place to go to school. I grew a lot while I was there and most of all became truly convinced that anyone can achieve their heart’s desire.” During his last year at WSU, he concentrated on mixed animal medicine and small animal surgery.

Dr Arianna Calvin
Dr. Arianna Calvin recently earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Washington State University, following her Bachelor of Science Degree in Neuroscience from the same institution in 2021. She is enthusiastic about joining Meridian Street Veterinary and looks forward to experiencing the deep bond between this community and their pets. Dr. Calvin’s professional interests encompass preventative medicine, chronic condition management, internal medicine, dentistry, and pain management. Returning to her roots in western Washington, where she grew up, Dr. Calvin is eager to reconnect with the area. Outside of work, she enjoys fly-fishing with her husband, spending time on any body of water, particularly in the Salish Sea, and playing with her two cats, Madi and Coho.

Kiana
Kiana is currently a Veterinary Assistant, soon to be a Licensed Technician. Kiana graduated college in the summer of 2023 from the Vet Tech program at BTC and has been in the veterinary field for 4 years now. Kiana was born and raised here in Bellingham. She has one cat, Bubbles and 2 Guinea Pigs, Pluto and Vesper. She has also had rats, a chicken, a Beta fish and a Bearded Dragon. Kiana enjoys being creative and making art in her free time.

Lisa
Lisa is an animal assistant and went to PIMA medical school assistant program. She grew up in California and her first job in high school was at an animal hospital. She graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a B. S. and teaching credential. Lisa worked in the teaching field for 22 years and returned to the animal field when she moved to Washington in 2016. She has always had animals in her life. Lisa currently has two beautiful daughters, one dog and two cats. In her spare time, she likes to take her kids and animals hiking and kayaking.

Marissa
I’m Marissa, an Assistant, I’ve worked here at Meridian Street Veterinary since opening in November of 2022. I currently have 3 cats, a dog, 2 turtles and a snake. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my pets, camping, hiking, video games and photography.
Joe
Retired Bellingham Police officer after 31 years of service, lived in Whatcom County since 1977. I have 3 ducks and a dog named Ginger, my Standard Poodle. I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren, woodworking, yard work and fishing.
